Cyber Safety/Bullying
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:
In today's society, students are exposed to the Internet through a variety of venues; therefore, it is imperative for students to learn the skills necessary to keep themselves safe while online. As educators of 21st century students, it is essential to include as part of our everyday K-12 curriculum common practices of teaching and learning through standards based instruction. These skills will provide students with the ability to protect themselves from identity theft, predators, and sensitive materials lurking on the World Wide Web. The practice of these skills will enable students to become responsible digital citizens not only while at school, but in their personal lives as well.
~~Washington Academy supports a zero tolerance policy for school bullying of any kind.
